Best Warrior leveling build for WoW Forever (levels 1 to 20)
Level a WoW Forever Warrior by putting the first 11 points in Fury even if you plan Arms later: Cruelty 5/5 for crit, Unbridled Wrath 5/5 to fix the Rage starvation everyone in the beta is complaining about, and Piercing Howl at 20 to control packs and runners.
Reported Three independent guides agree on the first 11 points and two on the Arms alternative; the 21 to 30 continuation is our own reading and is marked as such. Talent rows are cross-checked against three beta client datamines. Talent effects come from the beta client, so numbers can change with each build. Open this build in the talent calculator.
Why Fury (first 11 points) for leveling a Warrior in WoW Forever
- Three guides agree on Cruelty, Unbridled Wrath and Piercing Howl for the first 11 points. Cruelty is the biggest flat damage gain available at 10, and in the beta crits no longer give bonus Rage, so Unbridled Wrath's extra Rage on hit is what keeps a two-hander swinging.
- Piercing Howl is a one-point talent that dazes everything around you for 6 seconds, which is exactly what you need when a second mob joins.
- Arms from 10 is the honest alternative if you fight single mobs with a slow two-hander: Improved Rend, Deflection, Improved Overpower and Improved Tactical Mastery, with Deep Wounds from 20 and Bloodthrill, the new Arms talent, letting Rend targets trigger Overpower.
- Protection with a shield is a third option in the beta because blocks generate Rage, but it is slower for questing.
Alternative: Arms, if you use a slow two-hander and fight mostly single mobs: Improved Rend 3/3 by 12, Deflection 2/5, Improved Overpower 2/2 by 16, Improved Tactical Mastery 3/5 by 19, then Deep Wounds from 20.
Warrior talent order, levels 10 to 20
| Level | Talent | Rank | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | Cruelty | 1 | 1% crit per rank with all attacks. |
| 11 | Cruelty | 2 | |
| 12 | Cruelty | 3 | |
| 13 | Cruelty | 4 | |
| 14 | Cruelty | 5 | |
| 15 | Unbridled Wrath | 1 | Chance for bonus Rage on every weapon hit. Crits no longer give extra Rage in the beta. |
| 16 | Unbridled Wrath | 2 | |
| 17 | Unbridled Wrath | 3 | |
| 18 | Unbridled Wrath | 4 | |
| 19 | Unbridled Wrath | 5 | |
| 20 | Piercing Howl | 1 | Dazes nearby enemies for 6 seconds. Datamines disagree on whether it sits at 5 or 10 points, but it is reachable either way. |
Levels 21 to 30: No guide published after the beta opened gives a firm 21 to 30 order, so this part is our reading of the trees: Blood Craze 3/3 or Boundless Rage 3/3 (new, up to 30 more maximum Rage) for points 12 to 14, Improved Cleave 2/3 for 15 and 16, then the 16-point row: Raging Blows if you dual wield or Enrage for a two-hander. At 30, a respec into Arms reaches Sweeping Strikes at 21 points.
Warrior abilities to train, levels 1 to 20
| Level | Ability | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Battle Stance, Heroic Strike | Heroic Strike only when Rage is spare; it replaces your next swing. |
| 4 | Charge, Rend | Charge gives Rage and a 1-second stun. Rend every rank. |
| 6 | Thunder Clap | Slows attack speed; some sources say it now works in Defensive Stance. |
| 8 | Hamstring | For runners. Extra ranks can wait. |
| 10 | Bloodrage, Defensive Stance, Sunder Armor, Taunt | Bloodrage now gives 10 Rage plus 10 over 10 seconds. |
| 12 | Overpower, Shield Bash | Overpower whenever a mob dodges. |
| 14 | Demoralizing Shout, Revenge, Tactical Mastery | Tactical Mastery is baseline in Forever: you keep 10 Rage when changing stance. |
| 16 | Shield Block | Two charges over 7 seconds in the beta. |
| 20 | Victory Rush, Slam, Retaliation, Mocking Blow | Victory Rush is new and baseline: free, usable within 20 seconds of a kill, heals 10% of your health, 30-second cooldown. Use it after every kill. |
Warrior leveling rotation in WoW Forever

- Heroic Strike only with spare Rage. Slam in a gap from 20.

Best race for a leveling Warrior
| Faction | Race | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Horde | Orc | Blood Fury for 10% attack power, Axe Specialization for 1% crit with axes, Hardiness for shorter stuns. Three guides agree. |
| Horde | Tauren | Best for Protection thanks to the health bonus and War Stomp. |
| Alliance | Human | Sword Specialization gives 2% crit with swords, the strongest weapon racial, and Will to Survive breaks stuns. |
| Alliance | Gnome | Escape Artist and the new Eureka, a short burst of extra damage and cheaper Rage. Pick Gnome if you are not using swords. |
Every racial is on the WoW Forever racials page, and the class list per race on the race and class table.
Professions and camping for a Warrior
Mining and Blacksmithing is the standard pair, with Engineering as the alternative. For camping, the Blacksmith's Sharpening Wheel gives attack power, the Miner's Lodestone gives melee attack power and the First Aid Kit gives Stamina. Cooking food buffs help every melee class. See how Camping works for every camp object.
Gear and stats under level 20
- Weapon damage first, then hit, crit, Strength, Agility and Stamina. A slow two-hander for Arms or Fury; Protection wants hit, armour and Stamina after weapon damage.
- Hall of Thanes (13 to 18) and Ruins of Lordaeron (15 to 20) are both worth running, but their loot tables are not confirmed yet, so do not chase named items.
- Blizzard says unique dungeon boss drops are rare (blue) quality in Forever.

What is the best race for a Warrior in WoW Forever?
