WoW Forever character names and name reservation
Every WoW Forever character has two names, a first name and a last name, and the last name is mandatory. The full combination is unique across your whole region and every rule set, but either half on its own can be shared. Early name reservation runs from 27 Oct 2026 to 3 Nov 2026 for anyone with an upgrade pack, up to three characters each.
How WoW Forever names work
- Two parts, both required. You cannot skip the last name.
- Unique as a pair. Thousands of players can be called Thrall, but only one can be Thrall Earthwalker in your region.
- Region-wide. Uniqueness spans the whole region and every rule set, because Forever has no realms. If your Hardcore character dies and transfers, the name goes with it.
- Reservation. First come, first served during the window. The window comes with the Heroic Pack and above.
