WoW Forever system requirements

WoW Forever guide, checked 2026-09-19

WoW Forever needs Windows 10 or macOS 12, a 4-core 3.0 GHz processor, a DirectX 12 graphics card with 4 GB (GTX 10 series or newer), 8 GB of memory and 128 GB of SSD space. Because of the new lighting, cards older than AMD GCN 1 (2012), NVIDIA Maxwell (2014) or Intel Skylake (2015) no longer work at all.

Which graphics cards WoW Forever no longer supports

The new lighting, fog and global illumination need RGBA16F UAV compute shader support. Anything older than AMD GCN 1 (Radeon HD 7000, 2012), NVIDIA Maxwell (GTX 900, 2014) or Intel Skylake integrated graphics (2015) cannot run the game. The install shows an operating system error rather than a graphics one when this is the cause. If you want the lightest settings once you are in, the Classic preset uses the original SD models.
